We had Family Home Evening tonight and, for the first time, included Elise. Up to this point it has really seemed easier to hold family nights when Elise was already in bed because she can get so rambunctious, but we figured it is about time we included her. She really understands so much, and we need to be teaching her about Jesus Christ and His gospel.
Tonight we watched this Bible video and talked some with Elise about the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. (I love these videos! They are so well done.) When the video was over, Elise asked for "more," which means she wants to see it again. I'm sure we'll be watching this one again and again this week together in preparation for Easter on Sunday. I've already promised her that she and I will watch it again tomorrow.
It is so amazing watching Elise learn about Jesus Christ. (We've also recently started including her in our family prayer and family scripture study, which, when she is involved, consists of one verse of scripture.) When explaining this video, we told her Jesus died, that His spirit went "out," and then got a "new body" and His spirit went "back in." Hopefully she understood some of what we meant by that, having no real experience with death yet. Then again, I'm always surprised by just how much she understands and remembers.
Easter egg hunt for Elise in the morning! Easter is such a great time to celebrate together.
